SMS Terms
These terms supplement the DWEL Website Terms of Use and describe service-related text messages that DWEL may send to a caregiver who enters a mobile number in their authenticated DWEL profile. Reviewing an invitation, creating an account, being named in a Circle of Care or providing a telephone number through the public website does not by itself provide caregiver SMS consent.
Effective November 2, 2026Important. DWEL is not an emergency response service and does not function as a personal emergency response system (PERS). Do not use text messaging to request emergency assistance.
Current communication methods
DWEL's current standard communication methods are voice calls to care recipients at a telephone number selected by the family, which may be a landline or a mobile number, and email and/or SMS messages to caregivers. A family-selected number for a care recipient is not treated as caregiver SMS consent.
Service-related text messages
DWEL may send outbound, non-promotional messages related to the DWEL service. Depending on the applicable message category, messages may include care-coordination reminders, service or status updates, account or payment notices and notifications for a designated emergency contact. DWEL is not an emergency response service or PERS, and its messages are not a substitute for calling 911.
Consent
A caregiver consents to receive service-related text messages by entering a mobile or cell phone number in their authenticated DWEL profile. The DWEL system will display a consent notice and a link to these SMS Terms next to the field where the number is entered. Providing a telephone number through the public website, receiving an invitation, creating an account, being named in a Circle of Care or adding a care recipient telephone number does not provide caregiver SMS consent. Consent to text messages is not a condition of purchasing a product or service.
Message frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on the services, events and preferences associated with your account. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless provider with questions about your text or data plan.
Opting out
DWEL's application does not currently support automated STOP processing. A caregiver may turn off an optional text-notification selection where that control is available. Emergency-contact and payment-issue text messages are not optional for certain caregivers. Consequently, if a caregiver wants to opt out of receiving text messages entirely, they must remove their phone number from their profile.
Getting help
DWEL's application does not currently support automated HELP responses. For assistance, email customer-support@dwel.digital.
Delivery and carrier responsibility
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your wireless provider and network availability. DWEL does not guarantee that every message will be delivered or received at a particular time.
Privacy
DWEL handles mobile numbers, consent records and message information as described in the DWEL Privacy Notice. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Service providers acting on DWEL's behalf may process mobile numbers and message information only to deliver and support the program, maintain security and comply with law.
Changes or termination
DWEL may change or end the messaging program or these terms. The date above identifies the current version. If changes materially affect how the program operates, DWEL will provide notice as required by law.
